Role Description The Assistant Professor/Associate Professor in the Department of Aeronautical Engineering will be responsible for delivering high-quality lectures, laboratory instruction, and tutorials in core and elective aeronautical engineering subjects. Daily responsibilities include designing and updating course materials, preparing lesson plans, assessing student performance through assignments, tests, and examinations, and providing academic mentoring and guidance. The role involves active participation in departmental and institutional activities such as curriculum development, accreditation processes, and academic committees, as well as contributing to research, publications, and funded projects in aeronautical and allied domains. The faculty member is expected to engage in student projects, industry collaboration, and outreach activities that enhance the department’s academic profile. This is a full-time, on-site role based at the MITE campus in Moodabidri.
Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree (M.E./M.Tech or equivalent) in Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering from a recognized institution; Ph.D. in Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering or related field is highly preferred.
- 5–10 years of teaching and/or research experience in Aeronautical Engineering, with a strong record in classroom instruction, laboratory guidance, and student project supervision.
- Demonstrated research capabilities through publications in peer-reviewed journals, conference presentations, and involvement in funded research or industry-sponsored projects.
- Expertise in key aeronautical domains such as aerodynamics, propulsion, aircraft structures, flight mechanics, avionics, or aerospace materials, along with proficiency in relevant software/tools (e.g., CAD, CAE, CFD, modeling and simulation).
- Strong curriculum development and academic planning skills, with the ability to design outcome-based education frameworks, assessment methods, and innovative teaching strategies.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for engaging diverse learners, promoting inclusive classroom environments, and collaborating with colleagues across disciplines.
