Role Description The Associate Professor of Computer Science will hold a full-time, on-site position at Amity University’s Ranchi campus. The role involves designing and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in computer science, including lectures, labs, and tutorials, aligned with departmental and university standards. The Associate Professor will guide student projects and dissertations, supervise research activities, and mentor learners in academic and professional development. Responsibilities include contributing to curriculum development, conducting and publishing high-quality research, securing research funding where possible, and engaging in academic collaborations. The role also requires participation in departmental administration, quality assurance activities, academic events, and outreach initiatives that strengthen the university’s academic reputation and industry linkages.
Qualifications
- Strong academic background in Computer Science, with demonstrated expertise in core computer science principles and applications.
- Proficiency in Programming (e.g., Python, Java, C/C++ or similar languages) and ability to teach programming concepts at multiple levels.
- Specialized knowledge in Data Science, including data analysis, machine learning, or related areas, with experience integrating these topics into teaching or research.
- Competence in Cybersecurity concepts and practices, with the ability to design and deliver relevant coursework or research projects.
- Experience in Curriculum Development, including designing syllabi, learning outcomes, assessments, and technology-enhanced learning materials.
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Computer Science or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Evidence of scholarly research output, such as publications in peer-reviewed journals, conferences, or significant industry-oriented projects.
- Prior teaching experience at the university level, preferably in roles involving course leadership, mentoring, or academic guidance.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse learners and foster an inclusive learning environment.
