Role Description The Assistant Chef is a full-time, on-site role based at Frappe & Yap Cafe in Pune City. This role involves supporting the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including preparing ingredients, assembling desserts and beverages, and following standardized recipes. The Assistant Chef will help maintain kitchen cleanliness, ensure proper food storage, and comply with food safety and hygiene standards. Responsibilities also include assisting in menu execution during busy hours, organizing supplies, and collaborating with the team to deliver consistent quality and timely service. The role may also involve contributing ideas for new menu items and improving existing recipes.
Qualifications
- Strong basic culinary skills, including dessert preparation, beverage assembly, and safe handling of kitchen equipment.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices, and kitchen sanitation standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, manage time well, and follow instructions accurately.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative and respectful approach to colleagues.
- Prior experience in a cafe, bakery, or restaurant kitchen is preferred but not mandatory.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, based on cafe requirements.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a positive attitude toward learning and growth.
- Formal culinary training or certification is an advantage but not required.
