Company Description APDL is a multi-disciplinary design studio based in Ranchi, working across architecture, planning, interior design, landscape, and graphic design. The studio focuses on creating contextually appropriate solutions that seamlessly connect interior and exterior spaces, from large-scale concepts to fine furniture details. APDL emphasizes sustainability through cultural, social, and environmental lenses, integrating local skills and resources with advanced materials and technologies. An energetic team collaborates closely with engineers, consultants, and clients, using both physical and virtual models to refine ideas and integrate technical requirements from the earliest stages. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Architect role based in Ranchi. The Architect will participate in all project stages, from concept development and schematic design to detailed drawings and coordination during construction. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing architectural plans and 3D models, developing design concepts aligned with the studio’s contextual and sustainable approach, and collaborating with engineers, consultants, and other designers. The Architect will attend client meetings, translate user briefs into functional and aesthetic solutions, and support integration of localized materials and technologies. The role also involves coordinating project documentation, managing timelines, and ensuring design quality and compliance with relevant codes and standards.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Architecture and Architectural Design, with the ability to develop contextually responsive and sustainable solutions.
- Experience with Project Management, including coordination with consultants, managing deliverables, and monitoring schedules and quality.
- Proficiency in relevant design and Software tools (e.g., 3D modeling, drafting, visualization) to support detailed design development.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and standards; familiarity with sustainable design practices and climate-responsive strategies.
- Strong visual, spatial, and graphic communication skills, including preparation of drawings, presentations, and models.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team, engage in design dialogue, and respond constructively to feedback.
- Prior experience in an architectural or design studio environment; portfolio demonstrating design thinking and technical competence.
