Role Description The Application Engineer – Vision will work on-site in Chennai in a full-time capacity, supporting the deployment and optimization of machine vision and automation solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include configuring and programming vision systems, integrating sensors and transducers into customer applications, and conducting functional testing and validation of installed systems. The role involves providing technical support to customers, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and preparing application documentation such as specifications, test reports, and user guides. The Application Engineer will collaborate with sales, engineering, and customer teams to design tailored solutions, perform demos and proof-of-concept trials, and ensure successful commissioning of projects at client locations.
Qualifications
- Strong technical support skills, including customer-facing problem-solving, troubleshooting, and application guidance.
- Experience in software development or scripting for automation or vision systems, with the ability to configure and program vision tools.
- Foundational knowledge in electrical engineering, including sensors, wiring, control panels, and industrial communication interfaces.
- Understanding of mechanical engineering concepts related to mounting, alignment, and integration of sensors and vision equipment.
- Competence in testing and validation of systems, including test planning, execution, and documentation of results.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering (Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or related field) or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with factory automation, Industry 4.0 concepts, and industrial sensors or transducers is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site at customer locations, manage multiple projects, and communicate clearly in English; regional language skills are a plus.
