What We’re Looking For
Due to the continued growth of the Analytics & Consulting business, we are currently looking for a passionate, driven and energetic Analyst to join the Hydrogen Analytics team. While previous experience in clean hydrogen (or related industry) is advantageous, we welcome applications from talented graduates and early-career professionals with diverse academic backgrounds and experiences.
Our ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, and a genuine interest in the energy transition and clean hydrogen markets.
What Will You Be Doing
Support market research: Conduct research on clean hydrogen, in relation to its derivatives and related energy transition markets. Gather and analyse data on market developments, policy, and industry trends to support the team's research activities. Summarise findings and assess their potential impact on market growth and investment activity.
Build and develop expertise in the hydrogen sector: Develop an understanding of global hydrogen market fundamentals, including supply and demand dynamics, project developments, trade flows, and emerging commercial trends. Continuously build knowledge of hydrogen technologies, markets, policy frameworks, and decarbonisation trends, contributing to the team's research and analysis.
Contribute to research publications, reports and presentations: Support the delivery of Argus' quarterly
Hydrogen Analytics publication by collecting data, conducting analysis, and drafting content under the guidance of senior analysts. Help develop high-quality input into reports, presentations, and other client-facing materials that communicate market insights in a clear and concise manner.
Maintain datasets and analytical tools: Assist in building, updating, and validating proprietary databases, market models, and analytical tools. Ensure data quality and accuracy to support research, forecasting, and consulting activities.
Collaborate with colleagues across Argus: Work closely with analysts, consultants, and market experts to support research projects, share insights, and contribute to client deliverables.
Skills And Experience
Research & Analytical Skills: Strong research, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with an interest in clean hydrogen markets and the energy transition more broadly. Comfortable working with complex information, making reasoned assumptions, and applying structured analytical approaches to support market research and decision-making.
Interest in Clean Hydrogen Markets: Foundational understanding of the clean hydrogen value chain, including production pathways (green and blue hydrogen), derivatives (ammonia and methanol), and end-use sectors (refining, fertilizers, power generation, steel, shipping, and aviation). A strong interest in developing expertise in hydrogen markets, technologies, and policy developments. Eagerness to learn how these factors influence regional and global market growth.
Data Analysis & Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with the ability to organise, analyse, and interpret data. Experience working with large datasets, market research, or basic modelling is desirable. Familiarity with data visualisation tools, databases, programming languages such as R would be advantageous. Able to critically embed AI tools into workflows to improve efficiency and quality of analysis.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present research findings and complex information in a clear, concise, and engaging manner. Ability to contribute to reports, presentations, and client-facing materials.
Collaboration & Teamwork: A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Willingness to learn from colleagues, share knowledge, and contribute to team objectives in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to Detail & Organisation: Highly organised with strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work. Able to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.

Hours
This is a full-time position operating under a hybrid model, with three days in the office and two days working remotely. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 09:00 to 18:00, with a one-hour lunch break.
