Job Title: Zonal Manager – UK Study Visa
Department: UK Education / Student Recruitment

Experience: 6–10 years in UK education, overseas education, student recruitment, or visa consultancy
Job Purpose
The Zonal Manager will be responsible for driving UK student recruitment and visa business across an assigned geographical zone. The role involves managing counsellors and branch teams, developing relationships with students and parents, coordinating with UK universities and education partners, improving application and visa conversion rates, and achieving enrolment/revenue targets.
The manager must ensure that counselling and application processes are accurate, ethical and aligned with current UK Student Route requirements and the policies of partner institutions. UKVI's current guidance places significant responsibilities on licensed student sponsors regarding CAS, reporting, record keeping and the management of recruitment agents. GGOV.UK+1
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the UK student recruitment strategy for the assigned zone.
- Set and achieve monthly, quarterly and annual targets for:
- Student enquiries
- Applications
- Offers
- Deposits
- CAS
- Visa applications
- Visa approvals
- Final enrolments
- Manage, train and motivate UK counsellors and branch teams.
- Monitor individual counsellor performance and establish KPIs.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching.
- Build relationships with UK universities, colleges and pathway providers.
- Coordinate university visits, webinars, seminars, education fairs and student counselling events.
- Develop relationships with schools, colleges, corporate partners and other recruitment channels.
- Ensure counsellors provide accurate information about courses, fees, entry requirements and the Student Visa process.
- Review student profiles and recommend suitable UK universities and courses based on academic background, finances, career objectives and eligibility.
- Supervise the complete application cycle from counselling → application → offer → deposit → CAS → visa → enrolment.
- Monitor pending applications and ensure timely follow-up with students and university partners.
- Identify potential visa-risk cases and escalate them for appropriate review.
- Ensure that staff do not provide misleading information or make guarantees regarding visa decisions.
- Keep the team updated on changes to UK immigration rules, Student Route requirements and university policies.
- Maintain accurate records of applications, offers, deposits, CAS and visa outcomes.
- Coordinate with compliance/visa teams to ensure documentation and processes are properly maintained.
- Monitor agent/partner activity and ensure recruitment practices meet applicable institutional and sector requirements. Current UKVI guidance specifically requires Student sponsors using recruitment agents to manage them appropriately and retain evidence of that management. GGOV.UK
- Analyse visa refusal trends and develop corrective training and counselling strategies.
- Prepare weekly and monthly business-performance reports for senior management.
- Forecast student numbers and revenue for the assigned zone.
- Monitor competitor activity, market trends and changes in UK university recruitment.
- Resolve escalated student, parent, university and branch-level issues.
- Ensure branches maintain high standards of customer service and professional conduct.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree; Master's/MBA preferred.
- 4–8 years of experience in UK student recruitment/overseas education.
- Strong knowledge of UK universities and courses.
- Good understanding of the UK Student Visa process.
- Proven experience managing counsellors or multiple branches.
- Strong sales and business-development skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Strong leadership and team-management ability.
- Ability to analyse recruitment and conversion data.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned zone.
- High level of integrity and attention to compliance.

The ideal candidate should be a UK education recruitment professional and team leader, rather than simply a visa-processing executive. They should be capable of increasing student enrolments while maintaining high-quality counselling, accurate documentation and responsible recruitment practices.
