Role Description The Operations Manager role at Popular Foods Co. is a full-time, on-site position based in Nelamangala. The Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day plant and warehouse operations, including production planning, inventory management, and coordination of inbound and outbound logistics. This role will ensure adherence to quality, safety, and hygiene standards, monitor process efficiency, and implement improvements to increase throughput and reduce operational costs. The Operations Manager will manage and mentor on-site teams, create and track operational KPIs, and collaborate with procurement, quality assurance, sales, and finance to align operations with business targets. The role also includes responsibility for compliance with regulatory requirements, maintenance scheduling, and supporting the scalability of operations as the company’s product range and distribution channels grow.
Qualifications
- Operations and process management skills, including production planning, capacity utilization, workflow optimization, and continuous improvement (e.g., Lean, 5S, or similar methodologies).
- Experience in supply chain and logistics, such as inventory control, demand forecasting, vendor coordination, and distribution planning.
- Knowledge of quality assurance and food safety standards, including familiarity with HACCP, FSSAI or equivalent regulations, and standard operating procedures.
- People management and leadership skills, including team supervision, performance management, conflict resolution, and training and development.
- Strong analytical and reporting abilities, including comfort with Excel or similar tools, data-driven decision-making, and KPI tracking.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Educational background in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, Food Technology, or a related field; a relevant bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred.
- Prior experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, or consumer goods operations is highly beneficial, along with a willingness to work hands-on in an on-site environment.
