About the Role
We are looking for Design Engineers – Millworks with experience in shop drawings, millwork engineering, furniture detailing, and fabrication drawings. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in SolidWorks and AutoCAD and hands-on experience in furniture manufacturing, cabinetry, and interior fit-out projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Millwork Shop Drawings and fabrication drawings.
- Develop accurate 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
- Convert architectural drawings into manufacturing-ready designs.
- Prepare AutoCAD shop floor and fabrication drawings for furniture, retail fixtures, and interior fit-outs.
- Perform detailing, drafting, revisions, and red-line updates.
- Create parametric models, libraries, and families.
- Support prototype/sample development.
- Prepare customized assembly costing and material specifications.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and support international projects.
Required Skills
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory).
- 2–7 years of experience in Millwork / Furniture Design / Joinery Engineering.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Experience in modelling, detailing, drafting, fabrication drawings, and manufacturing drawings.
- Knowledge of furniture manufacturing, cabinetry, casework, retail fixtures, and interior fit-outs.
- Understanding of wood materials such as MDF, Plywood, Blockboard, Chipboard, and OSB.
- Knowledge of CNC Routers, Beam Saw, Panel Saw, Edge Banding, and woodworking processes.
- Exposure to metal fabrication processes including tube cutting, TIG welding, milling, drilling, lathe work, and related manufacturing techniques.
- Good understanding of materials and finishes including wood, laminates, metals, plastics, and fabrics.
- Good communication skills; experience working on international projects will be an added advantage.
