Role Description As a User Experience (UX) Designer Intern at Laneway, you will support the design and improvement of digital products and experiences across consulting, technology, and media projects. In this remote internship role, you will collaborate with product managers, developers, and other designers to understand user needs, map user journeys, and translate requirements into wireframes, prototypes, and interaction flows. You will assist in conducting user research and usability testing, synthesizing findings into actionable design recommendations, and documenting UX deliverables. Daily tasks may include refining interface designs, preparing design specifications, organizing design assets, and ensuring consistency with brand and accessibility guidelines. This internship offers exposure to modern business challenges and the opportunity to contribute to user-centered solutions in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Qualifications
- Foundational UX and UI design skills, including wireframing, prototyping, interaction design, and visual design for web and mobile products.
- Ability to conduct user research and usability testing, analyze qualitative and quantitative feedback, and translate insights into clear design improvements.
- Proficiency with common design and collaboration tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Miro, or similar platforms).
- Understanding of information architecture, user flows, and accessibility best practices for digital experiences.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present design concepts, document decisions, and collaborate effectively in a remote, cross-functional team.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or certification in design, human–computer interaction, psychology, computer science, or a related field.
- Interest in business, technology, and startups, with a willingness to learn in a dynamic environment and take ownership of assigned tasks.
- Prior project or portfolio demonstrating user-centered design thinking; experience in consulting, SaaS, or media is a plus.
