About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager specializing in Data Engineering to join our dynamic team at Nu10. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading end-to-end delivery of enterprise data platform initiatives, ensuring technical excellence and timely execution. This role requires a blend of project management expertise and deep technical knowledge in data architectures, pipelines, and cloud platforms. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Data Engineers, Data Architects, Business Analysts, and stakeholders, to translate business requirements into scalable, efficient data solutions. The position is based in Bengaluru, with a preference for candidates who can work onsite at our Indiranagar office, and offers a full-time employment opportunity.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 8+ years of overall IT experience, with at least 5+ years managing Data Engineering or Data Platform projects. Prior hands-on experience as a Data Engineer or Technical Lead is essential, especially in delivering enterprise-scale cloud data platform implementations. A strong understanding of modern data architectures, including Data Lakes, Medallion Architecture, and data warehousing, is required. Candidates should have expertise in Apache Spark, PySpark, SQL optimization, and data modeling techniques. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with data orchestration tools like Airflow or Azure Data Factory, is also necessary. A proven track record of managing cross-functional teams, stakeholder communication, and project delivery in agile environments is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of Data Engineering and Data Platform projects, from initial planning and design to deployment and support.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Architects, Business Analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and timelines.
- Review and validate solution architectures for enterprise Data Lake implementations, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
- Drive the implementation of Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) and oversee the development of scalable batch and real-time data pipelines.
- Review technical designs for ETL/ELT pipelines, focusing on performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Provide technical guidance on Spark/PySpark-based data processing, including optimization, partitioning, caching, and performance tuning.
- Ensure proper orchestration and scheduling of data workflows using tools such as Airflow, Azure Data Factory, or similar platforms.
- Monitor project risks, dependencies, resource planning, and delivery milestones, proactively addressing potential issues.
- Conduct architecture reviews, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and technical discussions to ensure alignment and quality standards.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical blockers and mitigate delivery risks effectively.
- Implement data quality checks, monitoring, logging, and observability frameworks to ensure data integrity and operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with governance, security, metadata management, and data privacy standards across platforms.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and seamless production deployments.
- Maintain clear communication regarding project status, risks, dependencies, and technical updates with leadership and business stakeholders.
