Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Drafting Engineer role based in New Delhi. The Drafting Engineer will prepare detailed technical drawings and fabrication layouts for fencing, noise walls, gates, and related infrastructure projects using CAD software. Responsibilities include interpreting engineering designs and specifications, coordinating with project engineers and site teams to ensure constructability, and updating drawings to reflect design changes and site conditions. The role also involves maintaining drawing standards and
documentation, supporting quantity take-offs, and contributing to design optimization for safety,
durability, and cost-effectiveness. The Drafting Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and quality requirements.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong CAD and drafting skills, including proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software and the ability to produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of civil or structural engineering principles, familiarity with infrastructure projects (such as fencing, noise walls, and rail works), and an understanding of relevant standards and codes.
- Candidates should possess capabilities in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, preparing shop drawings, and coordinating design changes with project stakeholders.
- Candidates should possess skills in documentation and quality control, including maintaining drawing registers, version control, and adherence to company drafting standards.
- Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work with engineers, project managers, and site supervisors, and to respond constructively to feedback.
- Candidates should possess strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- A diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Drafting, or a related discipline is preferred; prior experience in infrastructure or construction drafting is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Indian building and infrastructure regulations, basic MS Office skills, and a commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement will be beneficial.
