Role Description The Associate and Senior Associate roles are full-time, on-site positions based in New Delhi. Team members will work closely with partners and senior lawyers on matters involving venture capital, private equity, and M&A. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and reviewing legal documents and opinions, conducting detailed legal and regulatory research, preparing client advisories and transaction-related documentation, and assisting in regulatory filings and compliance processes. Associates will also engage in client meetings and calls, and collaborate with colleagues across offices to ensure high-quality, timely delivery of work. Senior Associates may additionally lead deal workstreams, supervise junior team members, contribute to knowledge development, and support business development initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong legal research, analytical, and drafting skills, with the ability to interpret complex statutes, regulations, and judicial precedents.
- Experience or demonstrated interest in financial services regulation, funds, securities laws, and related regulatory frameworks.
- PQE of 2 - 4 years with capability to manage transactions or matters in areas such as venture capital, private equity, M&A (prior experience is a must) including drafting and finalising documents.
- Effective communication and client-handling skills, including clear written and verbal communication, stakeholder coordination, and relationship management.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and the capacity to handle multiple assignments and tight deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in law (LL.B.) from a recognized institution; additional qualifications or postgraduate specialization in corporate or financial law are beneficial.
