Role Description The Senior Interior Designer will lead end-to-end design projects, from concept development through detailed drawings and on-site coordination. This full-time, on-site role in Mumbai involves preparing design presentations, space plans, and mood boards, and selecting materials, finishes, and FF&E. The person in this role will coordinate with architects, contractors, and vendors, review construction drawings, and monitor work on site to ensure design intent and quality standards are met. Responsibilities also include mentoring junior designers, managing timelines and deliverables, and actively participating in client meetings to refine design solutions and address project requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong Interior Design and Space Planning skills, with the ability to translate client needs into functional layouts.
- Experience with Architecture and Construction Drawings, including creating and reviewing detailed plans and technical documentation.
- Proficiency in FF&E selection, specification, and coordination, including furniture, fixtures, equipment, materials, and finishes.
- Advanced skills in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar tools, plus presentation tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint).
- Proven experience managing interior design projects independently, including budget awareness, scheduling, and vendor coordination.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with experience presenting to clients and guiding junior team members.
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field, with several years of relevant professional experience.
- Knowledge of local building codes, materials, and construction practices in Mumbai; prior work on residential and/or commercial projects is an advantage.
