Job Summary:
The Finance Head is responsible for leading the financial strategy, planning, and management of the organization. This role involves overseeing budgeting, financial reporting, internal controls, compliance, and financial decision-making to ensure financial health and sustainability. The Finance Head will work closely with senior management, donors, external consultants, and cross-functional teams to drive financial efficiency and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Budgeting:
- Develop and implement annual budgets in collaboration with program teams.
- Monitor variances and provide insights to optimize financial performance.
- Ensure effective fund allocation and utilization based on organizational priorities.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare and analyze monthly MIS reports and ad-hoc financial reports for management.
- Track donor fund utilization, ensuring alignment with donor budgets and criteria.
- Generate financial projections and reports to support key business decisions.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Establish and monitor strong internal financial controls to minimize risks and ensure cost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including FCRA, TDS, PT, and Income Tax.
- Coordinate with statutory auditors and external consultants for audits and regulatory filings.
Investment & Cost Management:
- Oversee and optimize the organization’s investments to maximize returns.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend financial strategies to improve operational efficiency.
Process Improvement & Automation:
- Work on finance process automation and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Document financial workflows and continuously improve financial systems and operations.
Stakeholder & Team Coordination:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring efficient finance operations.
- Collaborate with various departments (Operations, Fundraising, Admin, and HR) to improve financial integration.
- Coordinate with donors and external stakeholders for financial reporting and compliance.
Other Responsibilities:
- Manage and finalize financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.
- Handle any additional finance-related tasks as assigned by the management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: BCom, M.Com, BAF, MBA in Finance, or CA (preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in financial management, budgeting, and compliance.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in financial reporting, MIS, and compliance regulations.
- Hands-on experience with financial planning, investments, and cost control.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in finance software and financial modelling tools.
