Role: Design & Merchandising Associate (Atelier Role)
Location: Kurla, Mumbai (On-site, 6 days/week)
CTC: ₹25–30k (Fresher) | ₹40–45k (3–5 years exp)

Monk & Mei is a D2C womenswear brand with an in-house atelier in Kurla. You'll work directly with 15 sewing machines and master karigars to take designs from concept to custom orders in days, not months.
Your Core Responsibilities
- Design (60%): Create commercially viable collections (ethnic + contemporary, ₹8k–12k), market research, trend analysis, mood boards
- Production Coordination (30%): Liaise with floor karigars on all standard custom orders, maintain critical paths, ensure on-time delivery, fabric/trim sourcing
- Social Media (10%): Assist with product photography, reels, and content for Instagram/website
Who You Are
- NIFT/Pearl grad (or equivalent) with 2+ years working under a fashion designer
- Basic Excel skills (data entry, simple trackers—no VLOOKUP needed)
- Owns a laptop, comfortable using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) to automate repetitive tasks
- Keen to work on the factory floor, not in a corner office
- Understands Indian vendor markets (Delhi, Surat, Jaipur, Mumbai)
