Role Description The WFM Capacity Planner role in Chennai is a full-time, on-site position responsible for forecasting and planning workforce capacity to meet service and operational targets. This role involves analyzing historical data, current volumes, and future demand to develop accurate staffing plans across functions, shifts, and timelines. The capacity planner will collaborate with operations, HR, and leadership teams to align production plans with business goals, optimize resource utilization, and minimize under- or over-staffing risks. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring performance against plans, identifying variances, recommending corrective actions, and preparing reports and dashboards for stakeholders. The role also requires continuous improvement of planning models, documentation of assumptions and methodologies, and clear communication of capacity-related insights to cross-functional partners.
Qualifications
- Strong capacity planning and capacity management skills, with experience in workforce management or operations planning.
- Analytical skills to interpret data, build forecasts, and generate actionable insights using spreadsheets or analytics tools.
- Production planning experience to align staffing, schedules, and resources with service level and productivity targets.
- Clear and effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting planning recommendations.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, statistics, operations, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and WFM or planning tools; familiarity with dashboards and reporting applications is an advantage.
- Ability to work in a structured, detail-oriented manner, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Exposure to healthcare operations or service centers, and understanding of SLA-driven environments, is preferred.
