- Liaise with Ghana Customs authorities, port officials, clearing and forwarding agents, shipping lines, transporters, inspection agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with customs officials and other relevant regulatory and operational authorities.
- Ensure timely customs clearance by coordinating documentation, duty-related processes, inspections, and cargo release.
- Monitor shipment schedules and proactively address clearance, detention, demurrage, transportation, or delivery delays.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure regular physical stock verification and reconciliation.
- Minimise stock shortages, excess stock, transit loss, pilferage, contamination, damage, and handling losses.

- Supervise warehouse personnel, drivers, loaders, forklift operators, security staff, and other operational teams.
- Track logistics and warehouse costs and identify opportunities to improve turnaround time and operational efficiency.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports covering stock, shipments, clearance status, dispatches, losses, and operational costs.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, statutory requirements, food-safety practices, and warehouse health and safety standards.
- Coordinate closely with procurement, sales, finance, quality, and senior management teams.
Candidate Profile
- Graduate or postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, International Trade, or a related field.
- Approximately 8–15 years of relevant experience in warehousing, logistics, supply chain, or import operations.
- Strong experience in the agro-commodity, food commodity, commodity trading, agricultural trading, or bulk import and distribution industry.
- Practical knowledge of customs clearance, port operations, import documentation, freight coordination, and clearing-agent management.
- Experience managing large-volume or bulk commodities such as rice, sugar, grains, pulses, oilseeds, edible oil, flour, cashew, sesame, or similar products.
- Demonstrated team-management and warehouse-supervision experience.
- Strong inventory-control, reconciliation, documentation, and MIS-reporting capabilities.
- Good commercial understanding of logistics costs, detention, demurrage, storage, transportation, and handling expenses.
- Strong relationship-management, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working in a multicultural and operationally demanding environment.
- Candidates currently or previously associated with established commodity-trading organisations such as ETG, Swiss Singapore Overseas Enterprises, Olam/Ofi, Louis Dreyfus, Cargill, Wilmar, or similar companies would be particularly relevant.
- Previous experience in Africa or another international market would be an advantage.
- Must be willing to relocate from India to Ghana on a long-term basis.
