About the Role
CoverYou is looking for a Visual Artist with a strong foundation in illustration, visual storytelling and image-making.
This is not a conventional graphic-design role focused primarily on social-media layouts, adaptations or resizing creatives.
We are looking for someone who can take an idea, piece of copy or rough creative direction and translate it into an original visual - from research and moodboarding to sketching, illustration and final execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop original visual concepts from briefs, stories and creative copy.
- Create illustrations, sketches, compositions and campaign artwork.
- Build moodboards and explore multiple visual directions.
- Translate abstract ideas into clear visual metaphors.
- Create artwork for campaigns, social media, websites, packaging and brand communication.
- Experiment with illustration, editorial art, collage, typography, photography and mixed media.
- Work with content, design, brand and video teams.
- Take projects through research → moodboard → sketch → visual exploration → final artwork.
- Contribute to the development of CoverYou's overall visual language.
- Use generative AI for exploration and production while maintaining originality and artistic control.
Tools

- Adobe Photoshop
- Procreate / Adobe Fresco or equivalent illustration software

- Generative image tools such as Midjourney or Adobe Firefly
Who We're Looking For
- 0–2 years of experience. Fresh graduates with strong portfolios are encouraged to apply.
- Education in Visual Communication, Communication Design, Illustration, Applied Arts, Fine Arts or a related field.
- Strong illustration and drawing fundamentals.
- Good understanding of composition, colour, typography, hierarchy and visual balance.
- Ability to create original artwork rather than rely heavily on templates or stock imagery.
- Strong visual-research and moodboarding ability.
- Interest in art, advertising, editorial design, photography, cinema, fashion and contemporary culture.
- Ability to explore multiple interpretations of the same idea.
- Comfortable experimenting, receiving feedback and iterating quickly.
