Employment type: Full-time
Seniority: Mid-level (3–4 years)
Industry: Travel Arrangements / Hospitality
Job function: Sales
FinnDMC is the best exclusive Destination Management Company specialising in Finland, from aurora season through midnight sun.
We work B2B only. We don't sell to travellers; we sell through travel agents and tour operators across India, the Gulf, USA and Germany, designing and operating the Finland half of their clients' journeys.
We're looking for a Travel Consultant to join our sales team.
THE ROLE
There are no cold calls. You'll own your inquiries from the agent's first message through to a confirmed, paid booking.
An agent sends us an inquiry because they have a client they want to keep. Your job is to make that agent look good, understand what their guest actually wants, design a Finland itinerary that fits, price it correctly, close it, and hand it over cleanly so the trip on the ground matches the trip you sold.
This is consultative selling, not a quotation desk. The people who do well here pick up the phone before they open a spreadsheet.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
- Your inquiries, end to end, and the agent relationships that come with them
- Understanding the brief properly before quoting: who the guests are, what the occasion is, where the budget really sits
- Designing day-by-day Finland itineraries on our contracted hotels, transfers and experiences
- Costing accurately and protecting margin, raising commercial exceptions rather than discounting
- Following up with structure until a file is won or properly closed
- Clean handovers to our reservations and ground teams
- Growing repeat business from the agents you win
- Feeding the market back to us, what agents are asking for, and where we're losing and why
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Essential:
- 3–4 years of B2B travel sales experience, selling to agents, tour operators or corporate buyers
- A track record of carrying a target and meeting it
- Solid costing and itinerary skills, land cost, markup, margin, seasonality, FIT and groups
- Strong spoken and written English, and genuine confidence on the phone
- A disciplined, organised approach to your pipeline
Preferred:
- DMC-side experience — you understand what a DMC can and cannot promise
- Europe destination selling; Nordics, Finland or Lapland experience is a strong advantage
- Exposure to the Gulf or German outbound markets alongside India
- Working knowledge of a travel CRM
- An additional language (German, or Hindi plus a regional language)
THIS ROLE IS PROBABLY NOT FOR YOU IF
- You want a support layer between you and the agent
- You'd rather send an email than have a conversation
- You reach for a discount before you reach for a better itinerary
- You want a broad multi-destination portfolio — this is Finland, in depth
- You need the structure of a large organisation. We're lean and founder-led; you'll build as much as you execute
WHAT WE OFFER
- Fixed salary plus a structured incentive plan that scales with the value of what you sell and rewards overperformance rather than capping it
- A FAM trip to Finland for top performance. You should see what you sell
- A written playbook and clear targets from Day 1, no ambiguity about what good looks like
- A structured 30-60-90 day onboarding with milestone reviews, plus ongoing product and skills training
- Direct access to the founders. In a team this size, your market feedback reaches decision-makers the same week
- A destination worth becoming an expert in. Finland is a specialist product with real demand and few people who genuinely know it
