Role Description
The Training Officer will be responsible for planning, conducting, and monitoring training programs for housekeeping and facility management teams. The role will ensure that employees follow the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, grooming, service, safety, and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
1. Training & Development
- Conduct induction and orientation programs for new employees.
- Develop and deliver training programs related to housekeeping and facility management.
- Conduct practical and classroom-based training sessions.
- Train employees on SOPs, service standards, cleaning procedures, and equipment handling.
- Conduct refresher training and skill-development sessions regularly.
- Identify individual and team training needs and prepare training plans accordingly.
2. Housekeeping Training
- Train staff on cleaning and maintenance of guest areas, residential areas, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
- Ensure proper knowledge of cleaning chemicals, tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Train employees on room/area setup, cleaning standards, linen handling, laundry, and inventory management.
- Ensure adherence to hygiene and sanitation standards.
- Conduct demonstrations and practical assessments.
3. Facility Management Training
- Train employees on basic facility operations and maintenance coordination.
- Create awareness regarding preventive maintenance, housekeeping equipment, utilities, and workplace safety.
- Ensure employees understand escalation procedures for maintenance and facility-related issues.
- Coordinate with relevant departments for technical and operational training.
4. Grooming & Behavioural Standards
- Conduct regular grooming and personal hygiene training.
- Train employees on professional communication, etiquette, discipline, and workplace behaviour.
- Reinforce hospitality and service-oriented standards.
5. Quality & Compliance
- Conduct regular training audits and assessments.
- Monitor employee performance after training and provide feedback.
- Maintain training records, attendance, assessment reports, and competency records.
- Ensure all training programs comply with company SOPs, safety standards, and hygiene requirements.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations and facility management.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to conduct practical demonstrations and classroom training.
- Strong interpersonal and people-management skills.
- Good understanding of cleaning chemicals, equipment, hygiene, and safety procedures.
- Ability to develop SOP-based training modules.
- Strong observation and evaluation skills.
- Professional grooming and a service-oriented approach.
- Ability to work with employees at different skill levels.
Qualification & Experience
- Diploma/Degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Facility Management, or a related field.
- Relevant certification in Training & Development will be an advantage.
- 4+ years of relevant experience in housekeeping, facility management, hospitality training, or a similar role.
- Experience in luxury hospitality, private residences, premium facilities, or high-end service environments will be preferred.
