Role Description The Territory Sales Officer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Solan. This role involves managing and expanding sales within the assigned territory by building strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and farmers. The Territory Sales Officer will conduct regular market visits, promote Geneva Seeds’ product portfolio, provide product demonstrations and technical guidance, and gather market intelligence on competitor activities and customer needs. Daily responsibilities include meeting sales targets, executing channel sales plans, coordinating with internal teams on orders and deliveries, and maintaining accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions. The role also requires organizing and participating in field days, farmer meetings, and local events to strengthen brand presence and support customer engagement.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Sales and Sales Management, with a proven ability to achieve and exceed territory targets.
- Experience in Distribution Management and Channel Sales to effectively manage and support local distributors and retailers.
- Solid Business acumen, including planning, territory analysis, and basic reporting skills.
- Background in agriculture, agribusiness, or related fields is highly beneficial.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business, Marketing, or a related discipline preferred.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trust-based relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Comfort with on-ground fieldwork, frequent travel within the territory, and working in rural and semi-urban markets.
- Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and use basic digital tools (email, spreadsheets, CRM or reporting apps).
