1. Scope of the Role

Area	Details
Role Overview	Responsible for identifying, analyzing, and managing risks related to commodity price movements
Objective	Minimize financial exposure and optimize profitability
Key Approach	Use hedging, diversification, and market analysis for risk mitigation

2. Key Responsibilities

Function	Responsibilities
Risk Identification & Analysis	• Monitor gold and silver markets for volatility and trends • Identify price, supply, and geopolitical risks • Conduct quantitative and qualitative risk assessments
Hedging Strategy Development	• Design and execute hedging strategies (futures, forwards, OTC derivatives, options, swaps) • Evaluate hedge effectiveness and alignment with business objectives • Handle Demat & physical commodity deliveries • Identify opportunities to improve hedging efficiency without added risk and ensure regulatory compliance
Market Research & Intelligence	• Analyze supply-demand, macroeconomic indicators, and policy changes • Provide forward-looking insights and scenario analysis • Track global commodity benchmarks
Risk Reporting & Compliance	• Prepare reports: VaR, sensitivity analysis, P&L attribution • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations • Maintain audit-ready documentation • Liaise with RBI, IFSCA, GIFT and Exchanges • Work with RBI/IFSCA/SEBI for approvals to expand hedging instruments
Stakeholder Collaboration	• Collaborate with gold procurement, divisional finance, central finance • Advise leadership on risk exposure and solutions • Support budgeting and forecasting
