About the role
Role Description:
We’re looking for an Associate Director – Product Management to own and scale one or more lending product lines end-to-end from strategy and roadmap through underwriting workflows, disbursal experience, and collections. This is a high-ownership, founder-adjacent role for someone who has built lending products in a regulated Indian fintech environment and understands the full credit lifecycle, not just the front-end user journey.
Key Responsibilities:
•Own the product strategy, roadmap, and P&L thinking for a lending vertical (personal loans, SME/LAP, or embedded credit).
•Partner with credit/risk, compliance, and engineering to design underwriting flows (eKYC, Account Aggregator, bureau/ML scorecards) that balance approval rates with portfolio quality.
•Drive disbursal-flow integrity, including reconciliation checks and control frameworks in partnership with engineering and risk — no gaps between backend logic and frontend blocking behavior.
•Define and track collections and portfolio health metrics in collaboration with the collections and analytics teams.
•Navigate co-lending and Lending Service Provider (LSP) structures, working closely with NBFC/bank partners on product and process alignment.
•Translate RBI regulatory requirements and evolving guidelines into product and process changes.
•Build and present roadmaps and business cases to founders and leadership, backed by data and clear tradeoff reasoning.
•Mentor and guide a small team of product managers/analysts, and work cross-functionally with engineering, design, risk, compliance, and business teams.
Must-Haves
•3+ years of product management experience specifically within Fintech Lending (personal loans, SME lending, LAP, BNPL, or embedded credit).
•Demonstrated experience owning products across the credit lifecycle: origination, underwriting, disbursal, and collections.
•Working knowledge of Indian lending infrastructure — eKYC, Account Aggregator framework, bureau data, co-lending/LSP models, and RBI regulatory context.
•Strong analytical rigor — comfortable defining metrics, reading portfolio/risk data, and making data-backed calls.
•Proven ability to operate at a strategic level (roadmaps, business plans) while staying hands-on with execution details when needed.
•Excellent stakeholder management skills, including experience presenting to founders or senior leadership.
Good to Have
•Experience with partner or channel-led distribution models (DSAs, freelancer/agent networks, or similar).
•Exposure to AI/ML-driven product initiatives (scorecards, recommendation engines, conversational AI/voicebots).
•Prior experience in a scale-up or early-stage fintech environment with high ambiguity.
