Role Description The Supply Chain Manager will oversee end-to-end supply chain operations to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality-focused delivery of pesticide-free food products. This full-time, on-site role is based in Chennai and includes responsibilities such as demand forecasting, inventory planning, procurement coordination, and supply management across farmer collectives and distribution partners. The role involves monitoring stock levels, optimizing transportation and warehousing, collaborating with quality and production teams, and maintaining accurate data and reports for decision-making. The Supply Chain Manager will also help improve processes, manage vendor relationships, and align supply chain activities with Safe Harvest’s social impact and food safety standards.
Qualifications
- Strong demand planning and forecasting skills, with the ability to align supply with market needs.
- Proficiency in supply management and procurement, including vendor coordination and sourcing from farmer collectives.
- Experience in inventory management, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimizing waste and stock-outs.
- Well-developed analytical skills for interpreting data, creating reports, and supporting operational decisions.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations, engineering, business, or a related field.
- Experience in FMCG, food, agriculture, or social enterprise environments is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site in Chennai and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a focus on ethical and sustainable practices.
