Role Description The Sr. Study Abroad Counsellor | CANADA is a full-time, on-site role based in Hyderabad, focused on guiding students through the entire process of pursuing higher education in Canada. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting detailed counseling sessions, assessing student profiles, recommending suitable programs and institutions, and managing application timelines. The role involves coordinating documentation, assisting with admission and visa processes, and offering guidance on exams such as IELTS. The counsellor will maintain strong communication with students and families, conduct information sessions, and keep updated with Canadian education policies, institutional requirements, and immigration guidelines. The position also requires collaboration with internal teams, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to outreach and marketing activities related to Canadian study options.
Qualifications
- Strong counseling and advisory skills, with experience guiding students through international higher education options, preferably focused on Canada.
- Proficiency in managing admissions processes, including application documentation, deadline tracking, and coordination with universities and colleges.
- Knowledge of Canadian education systems, program structures, and visa requirements, along with familiarity with IELTS or similar test preparation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust, explain complex processes clearly, and interact with diverse student backgrounds.
- Organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple student cases simultaneously and maintain accurate, up-to-date records.
- Comfort with basic digital tools and CRM or student management systems for tracking inquiries, applications, and follow-ups.
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; a background in education, counseling, or related fields is an advantage.
- Prior experience in study abroad counseling or education consulting, particularly for Canada, is strongly preferred.
