Role Description The Special Education Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in Gwalior. This role involves designing and delivering individualized education plans (IEPs) for children and adults with diverse learning, developmental, and behavioral needs. The teacher will adapt curriculum and teaching strategies, provide one-on-one and small-group instruction, and collaborate closely with therapists, psychologists, and other team members to ensure integrated support. Daily responsibilities include assessing learner needs, tracking progress, maintaining accurate documentation, and engaging families in the educational process through regular communication and guidance. The Special Education Teacher will also contribute to a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation, skill-building, and confidence.
Qualifications
- A strong understanding of disabilities and diverse learning needs, with the ability to apply appropriate teaching strategies and interventions.
- Teaching and Special Education skills, including experience creating and implementing individualized education plans and adapting curriculum.
- Experience working with middle school–age learners or similar age groups in inclusive or specialized settings.
- Clear, empathetic communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, learners, and families.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications or training in special education, inclusive education, or behavioral interventions are highly preferred.
- Ability to maintain detailed records, use basic educational technology, and follow organizational policies and ethical standards.
- Demonstrated patience, cultural sensitivity, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to learner-centered, non-discriminatory practices.
