Job Role: Soldering Operator
Job Description
- Perform manual soldering of electronic components on PCBs, including Through-Hole and SMD components.
- Carry out PCB rework, desoldering, component replacement, and repair of defective electronic assemblies.
- Assemble electronic products according to engineering drawings, work instructions, BOMs, and quality requirements.
- Inspect solder joints and assembled PCBs for defects such as insufficient solder, solder bridges, cold joints, lifted pads, and component misalignment.
- Identify soldering and assembly defects and perform appropriate rework and corrective actions.
- Follow ESD (Electrostatic Discharge), safety, and proper component-handling procedures.
- Operate soldering stations, soldering irons, hot-air/rework stations, and other related equipment safely and effectively.
- Perform visual inspections and quality checks to ensure assemblies meet specified workmanship standards.
- Maintain proper 5S, cleanliness, and organization of the workstation and production area.
- Communicate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve assembly and rework issues.
- Complete production, inspection, and rework records accurately.
- Work independently and as part of a team to achieve production targets and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
PCB Soldering & Rework:
- Manual soldering of SMD and Through-Hole components.
- PCB assembly and rework.
- Desoldering and component replacement.
- Repair of defective electronic assemblies.
- Hot-air and soldering station operation.
- Identification and correction of soldering defects.
Quality Inspection
- Inspect solder joints and PCB assemblies.
- Identify solder bridges, cold joints, insufficient solder, lifted pads, and component misalignment.
- Perform visual and workmanship inspections.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards.
Production & Safety
- Follow engineering drawings, BOMs, and work instructions.
- Follow ESD and workplace safety procedures.
- Maintain 5S and workstation cleanliness.
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams.
- Meet production targets while maintaining required quality standards.
