Job details:
This is a player-coach role. You lead a small team of designers and creatives — briefing them, reviewing their work, giving real feedback — but you also design yourself. On any given week you'll be building ad creatives, editing a reel, writing captions, and scheduling next week's calendar. If you only want to manage and not make, this isn't the role.
We want someone who brings ideas to us — trends worth jumping on, formats we haven't tried, content concepts that fit each brand's audience.
What you'll own
Content & design (hands-on)
- Design social content yourself — static posts, carousels, reels, stories, ad creatives
- Build and iterate on paid ad creative for Meta and LinkedIn, working with the marketing lead on what to test
- Write or edit captions and copy so each brand sounds like itself
- Maintain visual consistency and brand guidelines across all four brands
Team leadership
- Manage and direct a team of designers and creatives — assign work, set deadlines, hold the standard
- Write clear creative briefs and give specific, actionable feedback
- Review all work before it goes live; you're the final quality gate
- Develop the team — help them get better, not just get things done
Platform & calendar management
- Own all social handles across four brands: Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and others as we add them
- Build and maintain the content calendar; publish on a consistent schedule, every week, without being chased
- Manage community — comments, DMs, engagement, and response times
- Coordinate with the content and editorial team so social aligns with blog, PR, and campaign activity
Insights & ideas
- Track performance across platforms — reach, engagement, follower growth, saves, shares, click-throughs
- Deliver a monthly report on what worked, what didn't, and what you're changing
- Bring new content concepts, formats, and trend ideas proactively
- Grow the founder's LinkedIn presence as a distinct voice from the company brands
What we're looking for
- 4+ years in social media management, including at least 1 year directing designers or creatives
- Strong hands-on design skills — Canva required, Adobe Creative Suite or Figma a plus
- Portfolio of social content you personally created, not just oversaw
- Experience building ad creative that was actually used in paid campaigns
- Fluent across Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook; comfortable with scheduling tools (Later, Buffer, Hootsuite, Sprout, or similar)
- Video editing capability for reels and short-form (CapCut, Premiere, or equivalent)
- Can give clear, direct feedback without being harsh — and can take it too
- Organized enough to keep four brands on schedule simultaneously
Nice to have
- Motion graphics or animation
- Experience across very different audiences (creative/luxury and institutional/B2B in the same role)
- Community management at scale
- Photography or on-camera comfort
