Role Description The Senior Medical Coder is a full-time, on-site role based in Hyderabad, responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant coding of medical records and clinical encounters. In this position, the individual reviews patient documentation, assigns appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes, and validates coding accuracy in alignment with regulatory and payer guidelines. The role involves collaborating with clinicians, billing teams, and health information management staff to clarify documentation, reduce denials, and support efficient revenue cycle processes. The Senior Medical Coder will also help refine internal coding workflows, contribute to quality audits, and provide mentorship to junior coders. Familiarity with technology-driven coding tools and willingness to work closely with AI-enabled solutions is expected.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Medical Coding proficiency and applied Coding Experience in clinical or hospital settings.
- Candidates should possess solid knowledge of Medical Terminology to accurately interpret clinical documentation.
Candidate should have worked on EPIC software in the recent times and should have atleast 7 to 8 yrs of experience on working EPIC software
- Candidates should possess education or background in Health Information Management, including understanding of records, compliance, and data standards.
- Candidates should possess relevant certifications such as RHIT or equivalent credential in health information or medical coding.
- Candidates should possess familiarity with ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems, along with payer and regulatory requirements.
- Candidates should possess attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
- Candidates should possess effective communication skills to work collaboratively with clinical, billing, and operations teams.
- Experience with EHR systems and AI-enabled coding or documentation tools is beneficial, as is prior experience in a high-volume clinic or hospital environment.
