SEO CONTENT STRATEGIST
Are you tired of generic job posts that lack transparency and leave you wondering about your role, growth opportunities, and the interview process?
At Skai Lama, we do things differently.
We believe in providing all the information upfront so you can make an informed decision about joining us.
WHAT’S THE ROLE?
As our SEO Content Strategist, you’ll be a driving force on our content team (led by Aditi) for how Skai Lama gets found — across our apps, our brand, and our emerging AI-CRO / Outcome-as-a-Service line.
And “found” now means two things: ranking on Google and being the answer that AI engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google’s AI Overviews cite when a merchant asks.
You’ll help build an AI-assisted content engine that produces genuinely good work — not generic filler — at a quality bar and pace that compound. We want someone who brings ideas and runs with them, not someone who waits to be assigned.
ABOUT SKAI LAMA
We help E-commerce and D2C Brands around the world grow Average Order Value, Conversion, and Retention. Our suite of 5 Shopify Apps — with more in development — powers 10,000+ stores across 50+ countries.
Where are we in our journey?
We’re a bootstrapped, profitable team that’s built and scaled 5 Shopify Apps over the years, and we intend to control our own destiny. We’re currently in the middle of a transition to becoming an AI-Native Org, and if you can bring those skills to the Content Function, you’ll be a perfect fit for us.
ROLE & CAREER PATH
You’ll join a small, sharp content team and get real room to drive — especially on Answer Engine Optimization, where we’re still writing the playbook.
As you prove it, the path forward is to deepen into a senior content/AEO specialist or grow your scope within the team. High agency here directly shapes how the whole company is discovered in the post-AI search world.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Drive content across our apps (Easy Bundles, Kite, and more), the Skai Lama brand, and the AI-CRO/OaaS narrative — shaping the roadmap alongside the content team.
• Run full-funnel SEO: topic and keyword strategy, search intent, on-page optimization, internal linking, technical SEO basics, briefs, and publishing.
• Be the driving force on AEO (Answer Engine Optimization): structure content to be surfaced and cited by AI answer engines — strong entity coverage, structured data/schema, cleanly extractable answers, and comparison/alternative pages. Track and grow our share-of-voice, mentions, and citations inside AI responses (we run Ahrefs Brand Radar for exactly this).
• Work an AI-assisted content pipeline: draft with LLMs, then edit to a high craft bar, fact-check, and never ship generic output. The AI makes you fast; your judgment makes it good.
• Use data + AI to scale programmatic content where it earns its place (use-case and app-comparison pages).
• Measure what matters: organic traffic, rankings, AI citations/share-of-voice, and — critically — downstream installs and signups. Tie content to pipeline, not vanity metrics.
• Turn product truths and real merchant/support insights into content by working closely with product, design, and CX.
• Help build and document the content and AEO playbook so it compounds (this is a core value here, not an afterthought).
MUST-HAVES
• 2–4 years in SEO content, ideally B2B SaaS or ecommerce, with real proof of ranking and traffic outcomes you drove.
• Genuine writing craft in English — you can make technical, ecommerce, and conversion topics sharp and readable.
• Real SEO fundamentals: keyword and intent strategy, on-page, internal linking, basic technical SEO.
• AI-native in how you already work — LLMs are in your content workflow and you have a strong editorial bar. You are not a prompt-and-publish person.
• Analytical: comfortable in GA4, Search Console, and a tool like Ahrefs; you read the data and iterate.
GOOD-TO-HAVES
• Hands-on AEO/GEO experience — optimizing for AI answer engines, structured data/schema, entity SEO.
• Familiarity with the Shopify / ecommerce ecosystem.
• Ahrefs (especially Brand Radar), programmatic SEO exposure, and comfort in a CMS like Webflow.
• Basic HTML/CSS/Markdown comfort.
