Role Description The Senior Veterinary Surgeon will provide advanced clinical care and surgical services to companion animals in an on-site setting in Bengaluru. This full-time role includes performing routine and complex surgeries, overseeing pre-operative and post-operative care, and leading diagnostic and treatment plans for a wide range of medical conditions. The position involves supervising junior veterinarians and support staff, maintaining high standards of patient safety and welfare, and ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and regulatory requirements. The Senior Veterinary Surgeon will also communicate clearly with pet caregivers, participate in case reviews, support continuous improvement in clinical practices, and collaborate with management to enhance overall service quality.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Veterinary Surgery and Veterinary Medicine, with a proven track record in performing a variety of surgical procedures.
- Solid knowledge of Medicine and Pet Care to provide comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based treatment and preventive care.
- Proficient Laboratory Skills and diagnostic capabilities to interpret test results and support accurate clinical decision-making.
- Recognized veterinary degree (BVSc or equivalent) and valid registration with the appropriate veterinary council.
- Several years of experience in a clinical and surgical role, preferably in a busy small-animal practice or hospital.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and team collaboration skills, with the ability to guide junior clinicians and support staff.
- Effective communication skills for explaining treatment plans, managing expectations, and building trust with pet caregivers.
- Commitment to continuing professional development and staying current with advances in veterinary surgery and medicine.
