Role Description
• Prepare detailed BOQ, quantity take-offs and detailed estimates from architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
• Prepare tender rate analysis for civil, structural, finishing and other construction works.
• Have strong practical knowledge of current labour rates, material rates, subcontractor rates and construction market pricing.
• Prepare and evaluate rate analysis, quotations and comparative statements for materials, labour and subcontract works.
• Prepare client RA bills, subcontractor bills, measurement sheets and final bills with proper supporting documentation.
• Verify quantities at site and reconcile BOQ quantities vs. actual executed quantities.
• Identify variations, additional works, deviations and prepare variation statements / extra item rate analysis.
• Review drawings, specifications and tender documents to identify scope, quantities, exclusions and commercial implications.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Engineers, Architects, Consultants, Vendors and Subcontractors for quantity and commercial requirements.
• Assist in tender preparation, bid comparison and commercial evaluation of projects.
• Maintain proper records of measurements, quantities, rates, bills, variations and project cost data.
• Monitor project costs and support the management in cost control and budget tracking.
• Maintain and update a reliable database of construction material, labour and subcontractor rates.
• Should be capable of independently handling QS activities from tender stage through project execution and final billing.
Candidate Profile
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant construction industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of civil construction estimation and rate analysis.
- Good understanding of BOQ, measurement, billing and quantity surveying practices.
- Practical knowledge of local construction labour and material rates.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and AutoCAD; knowledge of estimation/QS software will be an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
- Strong analytical, commercial and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with site and management teams.
