Role SummaryYashnand Engineers & Contractors Pvt. Ltd. is hiring a Senior MEP Site Engineer (HVAC & Fire Fighting) with proven experience in executing and commissioning large-scale infrastructure, institutional buildings, and government EPC projects.
The role requires deep technical and on-site expertise in centralized chiller plants, heavy-duty air distribution, advanced life-safety fire networks, and BMS integration under strict compliance and statutory testing standards.
Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work1. Centralized HVAC Execution & Commissioning
- Supervise site installation, pressure testing, flushing, and complete commissioning of centralized chilled water systems (water-cooled/air-cooled chillers, primary-secondary pumping systems, cooling towers).
- Manage execution of large Air Handling Units (AHUs), Treated Fresh Air (TFA) units, FCUs, and critical ventilation/pressurization fans (staircase, lift lobby, and basement smoke extraction).
- Oversee sheet metal duct fabrication, installation (GI/pre-insulated), acoustic insulation, VAVs, fire dampers, and conduct duct air leakage testing (DALT).
- Supervise hydronic piping distribution, valve packages (PICVs, balancing valves), thermal insulation, and hydronic balancing.
2. Advanced Fire Protection & Life-Safety Systems
- Lead site execution and hydro-testing of multi-zone fire protection networks, including automatic sprinkler systems, internal/external hydrant networks, and deluge systems.
- Oversee installation, alignment, and commissioning of main fire pump houses (electrical, diesel standby, and jockey pumps) strictly adhering to NBC/NFPA guidelines.
- Coordinate installation and testing of clean agent/gas suppression systems in electrical substations, server rooms, and critical control centers.
3. Integrated Commissioning & Automation (BMS Interface)
- Lead end-to-end Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB) and system handovers to clients and government inspection authorities.
- Coordinate field instrumentation (actuators, sensors, DDC panels, flow meters) with the Building Management System (BMS) and Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACP) for automated fire-trip, smoke management, and equipment interlocking.
- Review coordinated shop drawings to identify and resolve spatial service clashes with civil, structural, and electrical teams prior to installation.
4. Quality Assurance, Billing & Site Administration
- Enforce quality control protocols, Method Statements, Material Inspection Requests (MIR), and statutory test documentation standard in EPC projects.
- Take joint site measurements, review contractor bills against actual progress and BOQs, and reconcile material consumption.
- Maintain site reporting, including Daily Progress Reports (DPR), non-conformance tracking, and as-built drawing documentation.
Required Candidate Profile- Education: Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience Background: Proven site track record in large-scale commercial, transport terminal, institutional, or government EPC projects.
- Technical Competencies:
- Direct experience in executing and commissioning heavy central chilled water systems and chiller plant rooms.
- Strong working knowledge of fire safety standards, hydraulic calculations, and statutory inspection protocols.
- Hands-on familiarity with BMS interfacing, DDC controls, and plant room sequence testing.
- Software Skills: MS Office (Word, Excel); working capability in AutoCAD for drawing review and site verification.
