Job Title: Senior Executive - Finance (Controllership)
Job location: Bangalore
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Executive – Controllership & Tax to support financial reporting, fixed asset accounting, controllership, and tax compliance activities. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial close, maintaining accounting and regulatory compliance, managing asset capitalization and intercompany accounting, supporting audits and due diligence, and overseeing direct and indirect tax compliances. The incumbent will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and adherence to Ind AS and Indian tax regulations.
Skills & Experiences:
- 1 to 5 years of Accounting experience with demonstrated Controllership and Tax role, preferably in property accounting
- Qualified CA
- Working level knowledge of Finance/Accounting systems (SAP preferred), MS Office, Excellent analytical skills
- Proficiency in the English language
- Ability to align to overall investment team goals and performance requirements.
- Working knowledge of IND- AS accounting standards as applicable to real estate / Fund management domain, REIT / Non-REIT / SEZ accounting, fixed asset accounting activities.
- Working knowledge of Indian Direct & Indirect Tax Compliances.
- Effectively engages with senior stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
- Ensures all Controller activities adhere to accounting and regulatory standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform month end close on time with high-quality financials: journals, accruals, provisions, reclasses, prepaids/advances, GR/IR, suspense clearance, and GL to subledger reconciliations (AP/AR/Payroll/FA); enforce cut offs and checklist governance.
- Manage mappings of cost centers/projects/segments, and GL master data integrity; ensure alignment to reporting taxonomies and management MIS.
- Govern accounting for development and service/facility businesses: revenue recognition (customer advances, unearned revenue), retention & liquidated damages, project WIP capitalization/close outs, and disclosures.
- Manage intercompany transactions, confirmations, eliminations, consolidation packs, upstream/downstream adjustments, and JV equity accounting; ensure Ind AS 110/111 compliance.
- Work with Asset/Property Management, Leasing/Projects, Treasury/FP&A, and IT/ERP teams to align data, processes, and reporting requirements.
- Own CWIP/AUC integrity (WBS/project tagging, stage gate controls, capitalization on readiness/available for use) and ensure timely movement to active assets.
- Govern disposals/retirements (approvals, asset retirement obligations, gain/loss computation, removal of accumulated depreciation) and intra group transfers.
- Ensure FAR - GL reconciliations and tie outs across entities; monitor exception reports and aging of items.
- Support the Manager – Controllership on external/internal audits, ensure first time right deliverables, and implement root cause fixes for close issues, reconciliation breaks, and audit findings.
- Provide support as required by Manager - Controllership for acquisition/divestment due diligence (financial and tax), and own the data provisioning for the same.
- Perform tax accounting and reconciliations—26AS/AIS/TIS, ITC/2B matching, GST credit (including capex/project eligibility), refunds/claims, and disclosure controls.
- Perform end to end Direct & Indirect Tax compliance—accurate computation, review, filing, and on time payment for GST, TDS, ITR, advance tax, and MAT/AMT; ensure clean ledger tie outs.
- Provide data and support to Pan India Tax Head for tax assessments, notices, scrutiny, and litigation across DT/IDT; coordinate responses with advisors, represent before GST/Income tax/SEZ authorities as per guidance from Pan India Tax Head.
- Support any other tax compliance related activities as per requirements from Pan India Tax Head, or Manager – Controllership.
