Role Description The Senior Executive Ocean Operations role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru. The role involves planning, coordinating, and monitoring end-to-end ocean freight operations, including booking shipments, managing documentation, tracking cargo, and ensuring timely delivery. The person in this role will liaise with shipping lines, overseas agents, customers, and internal teams to resolve operational issues, optimize routes, and maintain service quality. Daily responsibilities include preparing and reviewing shipping documents, updating systems with shipment status, handling exceptions or delays, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer requirements. The Senior Executive will also support continuous process improvement, cost efficiency initiatives, and provide regular reporting to management on operational performance.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Operations and Operations Management skills, with experience in ocean freight or logistics operations.
- Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to interpret shipment data, identify issues, and recommend process improvements.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication and Interpersonal Skills to collaborate with clients, carriers, and cross-functional teams.
- Sound knowledge of international shipping procedures, INCOTERMS, and documentation (BL, invoices, packing lists, etc.) is highly beneficial.
- Prior experience in a freight forwarding or logistics company, preferably in ocean operations, is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office and logistics/ERP systems, with strong attention to detail and time management.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Commerce, or a related field is advantageous.
