Role Description The Senior Designer role at Akruti Living is a full-time, on-site position based in South Mumbai. The Senior Designer will lead end-to-end design for modular kitchens and household furniture, from concept development and space planning to detailed drawings and material selections. Responsibilities include meeting clients to understand their needs, preparing design proposals and 3D visualizations, and collaborating with the sales and production teams to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and aligned with brand standards. The role involves supervising junior designers, reviewing layouts and specifications, and overseeing design implementation to maintain quality and consistency. The Senior Designer will also stay updated on industry trends, finishes, hardware, and international design practices to continually enhance the company’s offerings.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in interior and product design for residential spaces, including space planning, modular kitchen design, Wardrobes and furniture layout.
- Proficiency in design and visualization software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D rendering tools) and comfort with digital presentations.
- Solid understanding of materials, finishes, hardware, ergonomics, and manufacturing processes relevant to kitchens and furniture.
- Experience in client-facing roles, with skills in requirement gathering, presenting concepts, and managing feedback.
- Ability to lead and mentor junior designers, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Attention to detail, strong aesthetic sense, and a portfolio demonstrating innovative, functional, and high-quality design work.
- Relevant academic background in Interior Design, Product Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Prior experience in premium modular kitchen, wardrobes, furniture design environments is highly beneficial; familiarity with the South Mumbai market is a plus.
