Role Description The Senior Bunker Trader is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of marine fuel customers and suppliers. This role involves sourcing and selling marine fuels, negotiating contracts and prices, and coordinating bunker deliveries while ensuring compliance with operational and regulatory requirements. The Senior Bunker Trader will monitor global fuel markets, analyze pricing trends, and provide timely commercial insights to customers and internal stakeholders. Daily responsibilities include maintaining strong relationships with shipowners, operators, and suppliers, managing risk and credit exposure, and collaborating with internal teams to support efficient, profitable trading operations. The role also includes contributing to business development initiatives and mentoring junior team members to strengthen Trivoro’s market presence.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in bunker trading or marine fuel trading, with a solid understanding of global shipping and maritime markets.
- Proficiency in commercial negotiation, pricing, and contract management, with a track record of closing and managing profitable deals.
- Ability to analyze market data, fuel pricing, and supply-demand dynamics to support timely, informed trading decisions.
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Strong communication skills in English; additional regional languages are an advantage.
- High level of integrity, professional judgment, and risk awareness in managing credit, operational, and market exposures.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment, with flexibility to respond to market developments and customer needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Maritime Studies, or a related field; relevant industry certifications are a plus.
- Previous experience in a maritime, shipping, or commodity trading organization, preferably in a senior or lead trading capacity.
