Role Description
* Identify and forecast demand for OAP, Rock Phosphate, MAP, Urea, Sulphur and Complex Fertilizers.
* Develop and manage relationships with domestic and international buyers.
* Monitor market pricing, supply-demand dynamics, competition and emerging opportunities.
* Evaluate trading opportunities, commercial potential and associated risks.
* Lead/support commercial negotiations, pricing and contracts.
* Coordinate with Procurement, Logistics, Finance and Operations for seamless execution.
* Oversee orders, shipments and trade documentation.
* Ensure regulatory and trade compliance.
* Prepare market intelligence, demand forecasts and management reports.
* Drive improvements in trading processes and execution efficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in commodity trading, price negotiation, and contract management within fertilizers or related agro‑inputs.
- Knowledge of fertilizer products, plant nutrition, and basic agronomy relevant to agriculture, horticulture, and greenhouse applications.
- Experience in market analysis, demand forecasting, and competitive intelligence in chemical or agricultural markets.
- Ability to manage supply chain and logistics processes, including coordination with shipping, warehousing, and documentation teams.
- Proficiency in client relationship management, business development, and cross‑cultural communication with global partners.
- Comfort with data analysis, MS Excel or similar tools, and preparing clear commercial reports and presentations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business, Agriculture, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent post‑graduate qualification is an advantage.
- Relevant experience in fertilizer trading, chemical trading, or agri‑commodities; prior international trading exposure is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work with integrity under time pressure, handle multiple deals simultaneously, and make sound, data‑driven decisions.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Hindi and other regional or international languages is an added benefit.
