Senior AI & Technology Lead
Location: Delhi NCR

About the Role:
We are looking for a Senior AI & Technology Lead to join our team and work closely with a client in Delhi NCR. This is a hands-on technology leadership role for someone who has strong experience in building and managing AI-native products and solutions.
The person will be responsible for taking ownership of an AI product being developed for the client — from understanding the technology architecture and development approach to overseeing its implementation, optimisation and day-to-day functioning.
This is not a purely managerial or AI strategy role. We are looking for someone with strong technical depth who has personally worked on building AI products and can understand, challenge and drive technical decisions across the entire product lifecycle.
What You'll Do
- Take end-to-end technology ownership of an AI-powered product being built for the client.
- Work closely with product, design, business and engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable AI solutions.
- Define and manage the AI/ML technology architecture, frameworks, models and development approach.
- Lead the development and integration of AI capabilities, including LLMs, generative AI, conversational AI, RAG, AI agents and other relevant technologies.
- Work hands-on with engineering teams to build, test, deploy and continuously improve AI features.
- Evaluate and select appropriate models, APIs, frameworks and technology stacks based on product requirements.
- Manage AI model performance, accuracy, latency, scalability, reliability and cost.
- Oversee integrations between AI systems, APIs, databases, enterprise systems and other product components.
- Establish appropriate processes for AI evaluation, monitoring, testing, security and governance.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure the product remains stable and production-ready.
- Stay closely involved in the product on a day-to-day basis, identifying opportunities for optimisation and improvement.
- Work directly with client stakeholders and technology teams to understand requirements, provide technical direction and communicate progress.
- Manage external/internal technology partners and engineering teams wherever required.
- Keep the product and technology stack aligned with rapidly evolving AI capabilities and industry best practices.
What We're Looking For
- 8–10+ years of experience in technology/product engineering, software development or a closely related technical field.
- 2–3+ years of strong, hands-on experience specifically in AI development.
- Proven experience in building and deploying AI-powered products, not just experimenting with AI tools or implementing basic API integrations.
- Strong understanding of Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, AI agents, prompt engineering, embeddings, vector databases and model evaluation.
- Experience working with technologies such as Python, APIs, cloud platforms, databases and modern AI/ML frameworks.
- Experience with deploying AI solutions into production environments.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, APIs, integrations and scalable application development.
- Ability to understand both the technical and product/business implications of AI decisions.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including product, design, engineering and business stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging capabilities.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership and operate in a client-facing environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Good to Have
- Experience building enterprise-grade AI applications.
- Experience with AWS / Azure / GCP and cloud-based AI infrastructure.
- Experience with agentic AI frameworks and multi-agent systems.
- Experience with MLOps / LLMOps, model monitoring and AI observability.
- Understanding of AI security, privacy, governance and responsible AI practices.
- Experience managing or mentoring engineering/AI teams.
- Experience working on large-scale enterprise or government-facing technology products.
The Ideal Candidate
You are someone who has built AI products, not just talked about them.
You should be comfortable going deep into the technology when required, while also being able to lead conversations with senior stakeholders, understand business requirements and drive a product from development through deployment and ongoing optimisation.
The role requires someone who can own the AI technology function on the ground, work closely with the client and engineering teams, and ensure that the AI product continues to evolve, perform and deliver value after launch.
