Role Description The Senior Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Amritsar, responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting. This role includes managing general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and inventory-related accounting for jewelry stock. The Senior Accountant will prepare and analyze financial statements, support budgeting and forecasting, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls. The role also involves coordinating with management on cost analysis, margin tracking, and cash-flow management, as well as overseeing junior accounting staff and supporting audits. The ideal candidate will contribute to improving financial processes, accuracy, and transparency to support the company’s growth and decision-making.
Qualifications
- Strong core accounting skills, including general ledger management, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Proficiency in taxation and compliance, such as GST, TDS, and statutory filings relevant to the jewelry or retail sector.
- Experience with accounting and ERP software, advanced MS Excel skills, and comfort working with data and financial reports.
- Ability to conduct financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, cost and inventory accounting, and margin analysis.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with management, sales, operations, and external auditors.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CA, CMA, CPA equivalent) is an advantage.
- Relevant experience in retail, jewelry, or manufacturing accounting is preferred, with a proven track record in a senior or supervisory role.
