Role Description The SDS2 Erection Detailer/Modeler will prepare detailed erection drawings and 3D models using SDS2 software for structural steel projects. Responsibilities include interpreting engineering and fabrication drawings, modeling connections and members, coordinating with project managers and fabricators, and ensuring that all details comply with project specifications, codes, and safety standards. The role involves reviewing and revising models and drawings based on feedback, identifying and resolving clashes, and maintaining clear documentation of changes. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Noida, requiring close collaboration with the local project team and occasional interaction with clients or vendors.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in SDS2 or similar structural steel detailing/modeling software, with the ability to produce accurate erection drawings and 3D models.
- Solid understanding of structural steel construction, connection design, and relevant codes and standards (e.g., AISC), including shop and field practices.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, and coordinate effectively with design, fabrication, and erection teams.
- Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and capability to identify and resolve modeling or detailing issues proactively.
- Good communication skills, ability to work collaboratively on-site in Noida, and manage deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
- Diploma or degree in civil, structural, or related engineering field is preferred; prior experience in steel detailing or modeling will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with other CAD/BIM tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Tekla, Revit) and basic computer skills for documentation and reporting is beneficial.
