We deliver precision-engineered LGS wall frames, floor joists and roof systems for residential, commercial and modular construction projects. Our detailing, engineering, production and installation teams work together to ensure every project is practical to manufacture, compliant and efficient to install.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced LGS Detailer based in India with practical working knowledge of Scottsdale software.
You will prepare accurate, manufacture-ready LGS models and detailing documentation from Australian architectural and structural drawings. You will work closely with our Australian design, engineering, estimating, manufacturing and project teams.
This is a hands-on production-detailing position. Applicants must have genuine experience using Scottsdale software for light-gauge steel framing.
Key Responsibilities
- Review architectural, structural and engineering drawings.
- Create accurate LGS models using Scottsdale software.
- Detail wall frames, floor joists, roof trusses and associated framing components.
- Prepare panel layouts, fabrication drawings, installation drawings and material reports.
- Generate accurate manufacturing and machine-production files.
- Check dimensions, openings, load paths, member sizes, connections and framing interfaces.
- Coordinate LGS framing with structural steel, timber, concrete and other building elements.
- Identify drawing discrepancies, missing information and constructability issues.
- Prepare clear RFIs and raise technical matters with the relevant team members.
- Incorporate engineering requirements and approved project revisions into the model.
- Conduct detailed self-checks before drawings and production files are issued.
- Maintain accurate drawing revisions, file records and project documentation.
- Work to agreed project priorities and delivery deadlines.
- Support continuous improvement of BlueStar’s detailing standards, templates and checking processes.
Essential Requirements
- Practical professional experience using Scottsdale software for LGS detailing.
- Previous experience detailing light-gauge steel wall frames, floor systems and roof systems.
- Ability to independently interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Strong understanding of LGS framing principles, connections and construction sequencing.
- Experience producing shop drawings and manufacturing-ready outputs.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong self-checking and quality-control habits.
- Ability to identify and clearly communicate discrepancies or missing information.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with an Australian-based team.
- Reliable internet connection and a suitable professional working environment.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working on Australian residential, commercial or modular projects.
- Familiarity with Australian construction terminology, documentation and building practices.
- Understanding of relevant Australian Standards and NCC requirements applicable to LGS framing.
- Experience coordinating LGS framing with structural steel and other building systems.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla or similar drafting and BIM software.
- Experience supporting roll-forming production and factory operations.
- Relevant qualification in civil or structural engineering, drafting, construction technology or a related discipline.
