Job details:
To manage and coordinate the end-to-end supply chain activities, ensuring timely availability of materials, efficient inventory control, smooth production flow, and on-time delivery of finished goods.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate material requirements based on production plans.
- Prepare and monitor Material Requirement Planning (MRP).
- Coordinate with Purchase, Stores, Production, Quality and Dispatch departments.
- Follow up with suppliers for on-time material delivery.
- Monitor inventory levels, stock availability and material shortages.
- Maintain minimum and maximum stock levels for critical materials.
- Generate and monitor Purchase Requisitions (PR) / Purchase Orders (PO).
- Track pending orders and supplier delivery schedules.
- Monitor GRN, material receipt and stock transactions.
- Coordinate material movement between stores and production.
- Ensure smooth production line material availability.
- Monitor slow-moving, non-moving and excess inventory.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly SCM reports and MIS.
- Handle SAP transactions related to materials, inventory and procurement.
- Monitor subcontracting / job-work materials and their return.
- Coordinate with vendors regarding shortages, quality issues and delivery delays.
- Support cost reduction, inventory optimization and process improvement activities.
- Maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with company procedures.
- Participate in 5S, Kaizen, ISO and internal/external audit activities.
- Identify supply chain risks and take corrective actions to avoid production interruptions.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of SCM, PPC, Purchase, Stores and Inventory Management.
- Good knowledge of SAP – preferably MM/PP modules.
- Good MS Excel and MIS reporting skills.
- Vendor coordination and negotiation skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Knowledge of MRP, BOM, lead time, safety stock and reorder levels.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production schedules.
Qualification & Experience
- Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or related discipli
- ne.Experience: 4–10years of experience in SCM / PPC / Purchase / Stores in a manufacturing indust
- ry.Experience in CNC/VMC, sheet metal, fabrication or machining industries will be an added advantage
