1. Role Title:
Scientist / Senior Scientist - Research & Development
2. Department/Function:
Research & Development- Translational Research
3. Reporting Structure:
- Reports to: Director - Research & Development
- Direct Reports: NA
4. Role Summary:
The person in this role shall manage clinical trial samples, develop, qualify and run relevant translational assays. Further, the person shall also support correlative analysis with clinical and manufacturing data, In addition, the person shall support other R&D programs for development, qualification and execution of assays as required. The role shall enable compliant & Smooth Clinical Trial Data generation as well as provide support to inhouse R&D Programs.
5. Key Responsibilities:
- Processing of patient samples from clinical trials (Eg. Isolation of PBMC, DNA, Plasma, Serum etc.), storage, inventory management and reconciliation of samples.
- Executing Molecular, cell biology and immuno-assays on Clinical trial samples as well as samples from other R&D Programs (Eg. ddPCR, Flow cytometry, other cell-based assays).
- Drive Assay Development and Qualification (Cell based assays, Immunoassays, Molecular biology assays) for Clinical trials and pipeline R&D programs either inhouse or with outsourced partners.
- Analysis, Reporting and Review of Data generated from various assays.
- Industry standard Documentation: Experimental records, Protocols and Reports. Support XOP generation and closure of change controls, CAPA etc.
- Ordering of reagents, consumables, and inventory management.
- Equipment management: Support purchase and maintenance of equipment and associated documentation, co-ordination with FAO, QA for same.
- Support Life cycle management (LCM) activities for QARTEMI.
- Support any other R&D projects as required.
6. Primary Objectives:
- Ensure timely and accurate Translational data generation for CAR-T clinical trials to support approval of the therapy (Eg. IMN-003A- QARTEMI for B-ALL and IMN-006).
- Support Life cycle management activities of QARTEMI for cost reduction or business continuity.
- Work cross-functionally to develop assays and generate data for Immuneel’s pipeline programs to take them to next stage.
7. Competencies Required:
- Handling and processing of human blood and tissue samples.
- Experience in Molecular biology assays like qPCR, ddPCR
- Experience with Human/Mammalian cell culture
- Experience with flow cytometry.
- Excellent documentation skills
- Basic statistical and data analytical skills.
- Experience in immunoassays (eg. ELISA) shall be bonus
- Experience in CAR-T/Cell and Gene therapy shall be bonus.
- Good communication skills

8. Qualifications:
- Masters degree (MSc, MS, MTech, MLT) in Life sciences, Biotech or related fields with 2-4 years of industry experience.
- PhD with 1-2 years of diagnostic or industry experience.
9. Working Conditions:
- Role Type: Full Time and Onsite
- Work Hours: General Shift but sometimes may require staying late or coming on weekends depending on when patient sample arrives.
