Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Registered Pharmacist role based at Mind and Brain Hospital in Bengaluru. The Registered Pharmacist will dispense medications accurately as per prescriptions, verify dosages, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Daily responsibilities include maintaining and updating pharmacy inventory, checking medication expiry, and organizing storage according to safety standards. The role involves counseling patients and caregivers on proper medication use, potential side effects, and interactions, particularly for psychiatric and neuro-related treatments. The pharmacist will collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to support treatment plans, participate in medication reconciliation, and contribute to medication safety initiatives. The position also includes maintaining detailed records, assisting with audits, and following hospital policies and infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Valid registration as a Pharmacist with the appropriate regulatory council (e.g., PCI registration) and compliance with local pharmacy laws and guidelines.
- Bachelor’s or Diploma in Pharmacy from an accredited institution; advanced certifications in clinical or hospital pharmacy are an advantage.
- Experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting, preferably with exposure to psychiatry, neurology, or behavioral health medications.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, dosage calculations, and prescription interpretation, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to counsel patients and caregivers in clear, respectful language, with good communication and interpersonal skills in a multidisciplinary team.
- Competence in maintaining inventory, handling controlled substances, and using pharmacy or hospital information systems for documentation and reporting.
- Commitment to ethical practice, patient safety, confidentiality, and adherence to infection control and quality standards.
- Willingness to work in shifts if required, manage workload in a fast-paced environment, and participate in continuous learning and professional development.
