Position: Radio Frequency/Electromagnetics Engineer

Responsibilities:
- EMC Specifications:
- Work in close collaboration with the lead program system Engineer in specifying the EMC requirements for a program.
- Translate a client’s EMC requirements to an EMC specification and compliance plan.
- EMC Guidance/Compliance:
- Give inputs to programs regarding sound EMC design principles and precautions.
- Assist in EMC testing and interpretation of EMC Compliance reports and guide programs in accomplishing EMI/EMC Compliance.
- Act as safety officer for flight tests and product release in terms of Safety on ordinance (including Pillar proceeding analysis)
- Take full responsibility of EMC compliance on programs.
- Signature Management:
- Provide design inputs in shaping the Outer Mold Line of air platforms – analyzing Radar Cross Section using computational tools such as CST and or ANSYS.
- Assist in analyzing Radar Absorbent Materials’ (RAM) effectiveness for use on signature controlled platforms.
- Collaborate with external suppliers in development and testing of RAM materials.
- Radio Frequency:
- Assist in antenna placement on Arial platforms. Analyzing antenna radiation patterns using computational tools such as CST and or ANSYS.
- Performing co-site interference studies, analyzing the various transmitters and receivers’ interaction. Solving possible interference.
- Analysis methods:
- Low and high-fidelity Electromagnetic analysis, including tool development and process.
- Electromagnetic optimizations:
- General electromagnetic optimizations, these include RCS, antenna placement, co-site interference studies etc.
- Collaboration with system and design engineers:
- To shape airfoil OMLs
- Optimize antenna placement
- Incorporate lightning requirements as required (Direct and Indirect effects).
- Implement sound EMC practices
- Project Management: Taking ownership of tasks while adhering to deadlines and budgets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or a related field is required. A master's degree in Radio Frequency and/or EMC is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in aerospace design and optimization environment (preference for 10+ years).
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming languages like MATLAB for data reduction and analysis.
- Electromagnetic Analysis tools: Working knowledge of CST and ANSYS (HFSS) is a plus
- Aircraft Design Phases: Familiarity with Aircraft Design Phases (conceptual, preliminary, and detail)
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards such as MIL-STD-461; MIL-STD-464; DEF-STAN 59-114; EUROCAE; RTCA DO-160, AEP 4671 etc.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve EMC/RF related interference issues.
- Team Player: Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and reliability of electromagnetic analysis.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities in a fast-paced aerospace environment.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in Electromagnetics and RF simulations are desirable.
