Job details:
Spectrum Softtech Solutions Pvt Ltd is seeking an experienced QA Tester for our cutting-edge Augmented Reality Avionics Display project. This role combines embedded systems expertise, visual testing precision, and technical documentation skills. It is NOT a click-through testing role. You will be reading C code, analyzing binary data contracts, validating rendering behavior, and writing precise bug reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Code-Level Testing & Analysis:
Read and understand C/embedded systems code to trace implementation against specifications.
Analyze header files, data structures, and macros to verify correct integration.
Validate bitwise operations, bit flags, and packed data structures against protocol specifications.
Visual Testing & Rendering Validation:
Verify UI/graphics rendering on AR displays with extreme precision.
Compare reference vs. test images to identify visual differences: colour accuracy, opacity, positioning, geometry.
Test rendering across multiple themes and display configurations.
Bug Triage & Documentation:
Write precise, actionable bug reports for embedded graphics.
Distinguish visual anomalies from actual specification violations.
Provide ordered lists of likely causes with justification.
Acknowledge uncertainty transparently - "I'm not sure" is valued over incorrect guesses.
Required Qualifications:
C Code Reading: Fluent in C syntax; comfortable reading embedded systems code & header files.
Binary & Bitwise Operations: Deep understanding of bit flags, bitwise AND/OR/XOR, binary representation, and data packing.
Data Structure Analysis: Ability to trace structs, unions, and calculate memory layouts.
Technical Precision: Exact value extraction from code; no rounding or estimation; comfort with hexadecimal, binary, and decimal representations.
Visual Analysis: Acute attention to detail; trained observation of pixel-level differences in colour, opacity, position, and geometry.
Bug Report Writing: Experience writing clear, structured, root-cause-focused bug reports for technical teams.
Specification Reading: Comfort extracting requirements from technical specs and identifying violations.
Experience:
1-2 years QA/Testing in embedded systems, firmware, or avionics environments.
Experience with real-time systems or flight-critical software (avionics, aerospace, automotive ADAS, or equivalent).
Embedded Linux or microcontroller testing (ESP32, ARM Cortex, similar).
Graphics/Rendering Testing (OpenGL, LVGL, SDL2, or equivalent embedded GUI frameworks).
Telemetry or data protocol testing (understanding of data contracts, serial communication, binary protocols).
