JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Purchase / Procurement Manager
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the end-to-end procurement process for all Capex & Opex items, vendor identification, techno-commercial evaluations, negotiations, purchase order issuance, and timely delivery of materials and services.
- Procure and manage the purchase of sophisticated laboratory instruments and analytical equipment like - HPLC, UPLC, GC, GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, ICP-MS, UV-Vis Spectrophotometers, FTIR, Dissolution Testers, Stability Chambers, Incubators, Centrifuges, Autoclaves, Deep Freezers, Biosafety Cabinets, Laminar Air Flow Units, and Analytical Balances, along with AMC/CMC, calibration, qualification, and validation services.
- Manage the procurement of laboratory chemicals, solvents, reagents, reference standards, impurities, culture media, APIs, excipients, research materials, chromatography columns, laboratory gases, glassware, plastic ware, filters, and other laboratory consumables required for R&D, analytical development, microbiology, and testing activities.
- Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships for scientific equipment, chemicals, and laboratory consumables, ensuring reliable supply, quality compliance, and competitive pricing.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, contracts, payment conditions, delivery schedules, and service agreements to achieve cost optimization and business value.
- Generate procurement MIS reports, maintain accurate records in ERP systems, and ensure data integrity.
- Evaluate supplier performance on quality, delivery, cost, compliance, and service parameters, and drive vendor development initiatives.
- Experience in managing supplier contracts, AMC/CMC agreements, calibration and qualification services, and procurement budgets.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing a procurement team of at least 3–4 members.
- Hands-on experience with ERP/LIMS systems, procurement analytics, and MIS reporting.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Vendor development and contract negotiation
- LIMS/ ERP experience (SAP MM, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)
- Team management , Procurement achievements and cost savings
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.Sc. /B.Pharma/B.E./B.Tech
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- MBA (Operations/Supply Chain/Materials Management)
- PG Diploma in Materials Management or Supply Chain Management
- Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (an advantage, but not mandatory)
* Candidates with relevant experience of Min 8-10 years in Pharma/CRO/Analytical lab (purchase / procumbent role) should only apply.
