Position Overview
Micro CRISPR is looking for a senior Project / Program Management professional with a strong Biotechnology or Life Sciences background to lead complex, multidisciplinary programs across the organization.
The role will serve as a critical link between scientific teams, R&D, technology development, operations, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, commercial and senior leadership, ensuring that strategic programs are translated into clear execution plans and delivered against defined timelines, milestones and business objectives.
The successful candidate will bring together scientific understanding, project-management discipline, stakeholder leadership and business execution.
This is intended to be a strategic Project Management leadership role, rather than a conventional project-coordination position.
Key Responsibilities
1. Enterprise Project & Program Leadership
- Lead strategic biotechnology and life-sciences programs from initiation through completion.
- Establish project objectives, scope, timelines, milestones and deliverables.
- Develop integrated project plans across multiple functions.
- Establish clear ownership, accountability and governance mechanisms.
- Ensure projects remain aligned with organizational priorities.
2. Biotechnology Program Management
- Manage projects involving biotechnology, drug development, advanced therapeutics, R&D, process development or related life-sciences initiatives.
- Understand scientific and technical dependencies sufficiently to translate them into executable project plans.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary scientific and technical teams.
- Track critical development milestones and identify execution risks early.
3. Cross-Functional Program Management
Work closely with:
R&D | Research | Process Development | Manufacturing | Quality | Regulatory | Clinical / Preclinical | Engineering | Supply Chain | Finance | Commercial | Business Development
to ensure seamless project execution.
4. Project Planning & Governance
- Establish project governance frameworks.
- Define project milestones, dependencies, deliverables and critical paths.
- Conduct regular project reviews.
- Establish dashboards and reporting mechanisms for senior leadership.
- Ensure timely escalation of critical issues.
5. Program Risk Management
- Identify project risks, dependencies and potential delays.
- Develop mitigation and contingency plans.
- Maintain project risk registers.
- Establish early-warning mechanisms for critical milestones.
- Escalate high-impact risks to senior leadership with clear recommendations.
6. Timeline & Milestone Management
- Drive projects against agreed timelines.
- Monitor critical-path activities.
- Identify bottlenecks and execution gaps.
- Coordinate corrective actions across functions.
- Ensure timely completion of key project milestones.
7. Resource & Budget Management
- Work with functional leaders to identify project resource requirements.
- Track project budgets and resource utilization.
- Coordinate CAPEX/OPEX requirements where applicable.
- Ensure resources are aligned with project priorities.
8. Stakeholder Management
- Act as the central project-management interface across functions.
- Drive alignment between technical and business stakeholders.
- Manage senior-level project reviews.
- Build consensus across teams with competing priorities.
- Communicate complex project information clearly to leadership.
9. External Partner & Vendor Management
Where applicable:
- Coordinate with external technology partners, CROs, CDMOs, consultants and vendors.
- Establish project milestones and deliverables with external partners.
- Monitor partner performance.
- Ensure external dependencies remain aligned with internal project timelines.
10. Project Reporting & Executive Communication
- Develop executive-level project dashboards.
- Provide regular progress reports to senior leadership.
- Present project status, risks, dependencies and decisions required.
- Convert complex project information into concise management insights.
11. Process & Project Management Excellence
- Establish standardized project-management methodologies.
- Develop templates, SOPs, governance mechanisms and project-review structures.
- Introduce best practices in project planning, tracking and execution.
- Build a scalable Project Management Office framework where required.
12. Organization Building
- Build project-management capabilities across the organization.
- Mentor project managers and program leads.
- Establish a culture of ownership, accountability and execution excellence.
- Develop future project and program leadership talent.

Candidate Profile
We are looking for a senior Project / Program Management professional with a strong Biotechnology or Life Sciences foundation.
Mandatory Requirements
- Biotechnology / Life Sciences / Pharmaceutical background is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of biotechnology R&D, drug development, advanced therapeutics, manufacturing, process development or related scientific environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, multidisciplinary projects.
- Strong experience working across scientific, technical and business teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, dependencies and stakeholders.
- Strong project governance and risk-management experience.
- Excellent executive communication and stakeholder-management skills.
